O Brother, Where Art Thou?

To me this movie was pretty boring but was funny in some parts. May favorite part would probably be when the scenes with Everette buying hair grease or when he fixes his hair. I find the scene where he he is wearing a hair net also funny. I'm not really sure why I found these scenes entertaining but i just did.

of mice and men project

I chose to do a power point and I just started working on it. I haven't got much done but I have researched John Steinbeck and learned a few things about him such as where he is from and when he was born. I haven't started my power point yet but i hope to start it soon.

I haven't experienced many set backs yet but i did face one large set back. Right now google and other search engines don't work on my computer so I am having some trouble researching. Other then that everything is going fine and i hope my google starts working soon or i am in a lot of trouble.

Extra credit blog

I had a lot mixed feelings about Romeo and Juliet. Because the play was so famous I thought it would be amazing and blow my mind away but it didn't. The play had it's good moments and it's bad moments but it also had a lot of moments that I just didn't care about. I thought that Romeo and Juliet were really stupid in a lot of moments because the overreacted in a lot of the plays conflicts but I did like that Shakespeare was trying to make the play enjoyable to everyone by including those awful puns.

I also did not like the ending in the play. I thought Paris's death was pointless and and I liked how they didn't include it in the movies. I also thought Romeo and Juliet's death wasn't sad in the play. I am not really sure why this play is so famous but it just is I guess. I am not not sure if other people felt the same as I did but this was how i felt.

Romeo and Juliet video

This is a video of two guys fighting and it reminded me a lot of Mercutio and Tybalt's fight. When I first saw this I imagined the two guys that are fighting and as Mercutio and Tybalt and the guy that saves Mercutio as Romeo. I know Romeo didn't save Mercutio in the play but the guy that reminded me of Romeo did look like he was going to attack Tybalt like Romeo did in the play.

Romeo and Juliet photo

To me this picture relates to Romeo and Juliet because peace seems like something the two house holds don't have even though Benvolio wants it. The Friar also wants peace because he agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet. In the prologue it said that only with Romeo and Juliet's death is there peace between the two families, so the play to me seems like it has a lot to do with the two families eventually having peace between them.
I got this photo from google images.

Romeo and Juliet: Act Two

To me the balcony scene seemed like the most important scene in act two and it was interesting to me for many reasons. I thought that Romeo was funny in this scene because he was talking with metaphors and similes and and was hard to understand. While Romeo was talking like that Juliet was being serious and i thought this was really funny.

I also found how easily they agreed to marry each other interesting. They had just met and had only spoken a little to each other and yet wanted to get married the next day. I have never gotten married so i have never experienced like this but Love is a weird thing so i guess someone could fall in someone else when the first saw them.

Characters in Romeo and Juliet

Mercutio is Romeo's best friend and to me he seems like a fun guy that doesn't take things seriously. When Romeo told Mercutio that he had a bad feeling about the party, Mercutio just laughed and gave his silly speech about dreams being nonsense. Mercutio also seems like the type of person that would help Romeo when Romeo needs it.

I know a person just like Mercutio and that person is my cousin. His name is TJ and he is the same age as me so he is more like a friend than a cousin. He reminds me of Mercutio because he likes to help out me or any of or Friends when they need help. He is also silly like Mercutio and likes to makes jokes.

Premonitions

I haven't experienced that many premonitions but I do remember one premonition I had. I was at my tae kwon do school and I had to spar with a third degree black belt. I'm not sure if this is a premonition but I knew something bad was going to happen. I was comfortable with my skills but for some reason i thought this spar would end bad.

I had fought this guy many times but for some reason this fight ended differently then all the others. As i was fighting him he aimed for my face with his spinning hook kick. I saw his foot coming but i was to slow and he hit me. He ended up ripping my lip up in four different places. It was an interesting experience and i learned a lot from it.

Shakesrearen Stories

The movie "The Notebook" is a movie that is has similer plots to shakespearen plays. this movies has a love triangle between the two main charecters and one of the main characters fiance. The main charecters are also seperated because one of the main characters parents do not approve of their relationship. And to me this seems very similer to the type of plays shakespeares makes.

I think the author who wrote the book the movie The Notebook is based off of did not get a lot of his ideas from Romeo and Juliet but I do think he was insprired a little by the play. I think the author got his idea from this play because the plots are slightly similer.

anticipating shakespeare

As our class watches a Midsummer's Night Dream I am finding that it is easier to understand the way that the characters are speaking, but I still find the way the characters speak hard to understand in some parts of the movie. Though I do find Shakespeare's plots interesting and his plays fun to watch most of the time, i do sometimes find myself bored or uninterested. I just hope I don't feel this way while reading Romeo and Juliet.

I have never read Romeo and Juliet but i do know the main plot. I know that it is story of two young lovers separated by their families differences. I am not entirely sure how much i will like the play but i will try to enjoy the play.

animal farm free write

To me the pigs are all power hungry and I believe they are going to change all the rules like they did with the "no animal shall sleep in a bed" rule. I think they will treat the animals no better then Mr.Jones. To me I believe the animals will revolt against the pigs with snowball as their leader or another animal.

I also believe boxer is going to die soon from over working because he is old and work way more then the other animals. Bower should get extra rations for working so hardand the pigs should share the extra food they get. The pigs are being selfish because they have a god complex.

The cold winter day

It was a Wednesday and i woke up to find that there was no school today. I was thrilled because I had three tests that day. After realizing that there was a full day of what ever I wanted to do I called a few people and went to my friend Yons house. The day was bright with the sun in my eyes as i walk to my friends house. We decided it would be fun if we buried my cousin in the snow and after a few minutes all that was left of him was his eyes. he said he might catch a cold but i think he was alright. Shortly after two more people came and we had five people total and we thought it wouldn't be a snow day with out making a snowman. But because we were guys we couldn't make a normal snowman no it had to be huge. After two people rolled the snow into the bottom i put the ball i rolled on top of theirs and finally my friend Yon put his at the top. The second ball was a five man job to lift on top and in the end we had created a ten foot snow man or taller. We took pictures with it and tried to decide if we should destroy it or not in the end we decided to attack the snowman. My friends even practice their Tai Kwon Do on the snowman with flying side kicks and jump spinning back kicks. Finally we rolled the bottom ball in an effort to make it larger but when the five of us could push it no further we gave the only problem was the giant snowball was in the middle of the road. We had to get our neighbor to use his truck to brake up the ball into movable pieces. it was sad and fun to see our giant ball of ice get attacked by a truck. We moved on and thought of our next project and thought maybe an igloo might be nice.
